Our story
Our story
The result of a collaboration between the Cercle des Agriculteurs, a Geneva-based agricultural cooperative, and So.Bio France, So.Bio So.Local opens its first store in Switzerland, in Geneva, at the heart of the eco-district of l’Étang. The goal is to offer affordable, diverse, and high-quality organic products.
Our team consists of passionate individuals dedicated to healthy and sustainable food, eager to provide quality products to our customers.
We believe in the importance of supporting local producers and prioritizing short supply chains. Our daily commitment is to reduce our environmental impact and ensure that every stakeholder in our food system is paid fairly.
When you enter our store, you’ll discover not only a wide selection of organic and/or local products but also activities and events for the whole family.
We are proud to build this story in the heart of Geneva’s local heritage and put all our energy into making it thrive every day.

Our values
Our offer
We offer a wide range of organic products, including fresh fruits and vegetables, organic meats and fish, dairy products, beverages, and more.
In addition to our food products, we provide organic personal care and household items, as well as a wellness and naturopathy space.
We also have a large selection of local products, both organic and non-organic, carefully sourced from our most trusted Geneva-based producers and sold through short supply chains.
We also organize events and workshops for residents and passersby on topics such as naturopathy, waste sorting, sustainable eating, and discovering local Geneva producers.

Bio Suisse, Demeter, bio europeen... What are the differences?

ORGANIC FARMING ("La Bio")
Organic farming is a system of cultivation and animal husbandry that excludes the use of synthetic chemicals such as pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). It also promotes environmentally friendly practices and animal welfare. Organic farmers typically use techniques such as crop rotation, composting, and biological pest control.

EUROPEAN ORGANIC
The "European Organic" label is given to food products (and other goods) that meet the standards set by the European Union for organic farming. These standards include strict criteria regarding production, processing, packaging, and labeling of organic food. Farmers and processors who wish to use this label must comply with these regulations and be certified by authorized control bodies.

SWISS ORGANIC ("Bio Bourgeon")
The "Swiss Organic" label is similar to the European Organic label, but it is specific to Switzerland and has more restrictive practices. While it aligns closely with European standards, there are some legal differences in terms of agricultural practices and certification criteria. It meets the highest requirements and ensures environmentally sustainable and socially fair production. This label plays a significant role in promoting sustainable development.
